TourComm Germany — Close to the market, close to you de

New partnership

Dominic Fischer | November 2024

between TourComm Germany and Road.Travel is revolutionising the in-vehicle infotainment experience.

Touristic audio stories now part of the infotainment system of leading car brands

In a pioneering cooperation, TourComm Germany and Road.Travel are intensifying their collaboration to offer motorists a unique infotainment experience. From the beginning of 2025, the content of the Experience Guide, the only audio guide app for the tourist information boards along the motorways, will also be accessible via the Road.Travel app. This integration enables users to experience high-quality audio stories about the sights, places and regions on the ‘brown signs’ while travelling by car.

Road.Travel, the leading app for curated road trips in vehicles, is available in the infotainment systems of the Audi, BMW, Ford, Volvo, Mini, Honda, Polestar, Nissan, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Porsche and Bentley brands, among others, thus ensuring an enormous reach of tourist content in several million vehicles.

Tourist content meets innovative technology

The TourComm Germany experience guide provides informative audio stories for over 3,600 tourist information boards in Germany and more than 150 in Austria. This content will also be available to users of the Road.Travel app from 2025. Other European countries are to follow.

‘The combination of high-quality content and state-of-the-art technology is the key to an unrivalled travel experience,’ says Dominic Fischer, Managing Director of TourComm Germany. ‘In Road.Travel, we have found a partner who shares our vision and is playing a key role in shaping the mobility of the future.’

Nikita Dedic, founder and CEO of Road.Travel, adds: ‘We are thrilled to be able to offer our users added value through the cooperation with TourComm Germany, making travelling even more informative and entertaining.’

Tourism marketing that works

A study by the Harz University of Applied Sciences recently confirmed the impact of tourist information boards. One in six Germans and one in five Austrians have already spontaneously left the motorway to visit a signposted destination. The cooperation between TourComm and Road.Travel therefore also offers an exciting approach for tourism marketing to place POI data with high-quality content directly in vehicles. TourComm Germany and Road.Travel are thus further expanding their position as leading providers in the field of digital tourism marketing in vehicles.
